This three-day joint technical specialty conference will bring together professionals and practitioners from all parts of the world to discuss lessons learned from disasters such as the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, Hurricane Sandy in 2012, and Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, and to propose solutions
to reduce future impacts of coastal hazards.

Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (COPRI) is a multidisciplinary and international leader in improving the knowledge and practice of civil engineering and other disciplines in the coastal, ocean, port, waterways, and riverine environments. COPRI’s Coastal Council includes the following technical committees: Coastal & Estuarine Hydroscience, Coastal Engineering Research Council, Coastal Structures, and Coastal Zone Management.
Coastal Structures is an international conference series and is held every four years. Recent meetings have been held in Santander, Spain (1999), Portland OR, USA (2003), Venice, Italy (2007), and Yokohama, Japan (2011).
Solutions to Coastal Disasters® is a technical specialty conference typically held every three years. Recent meeting have been held in San Diego, CA (2002), Charleston, SC (2005), Oahu, HI (2008), and Anchorage, AK (2011).
2015 marks the first time these coastal conferences will be held jointly. Participants will be able to network with a broader range of professionals from all over the world, and engage is exciting discussions of the latest in coastal research.
